Green Iguana or Monitor Lizard?

I can't decide on which one to choose, I'm not a beginner on lizards considering I've had a bearded dragon in the past which is now with my cousin, and a chameleon, well it was actually my uncles but i've had plenty of experiences with it, but I can't really decide on which animal to choose from considering that i'm a huge fan of the green iguanas and monitor lizards i'm very aware of the fact that iguanas do have some aggression issues and stuff and a lot of them end up in reptile rescues and abandoned but i'm not willing to give up on such an animal at all, i'm researching as much as I can about Igs and it's going pretty well but another problem i'm having is that i've always wanted a monitor lizard because they are like one of my favorite reptiles and I just love their appearance and stuff but i'm having a very hard time deciding on which one to get. Can somebody help me out please and if your going with the monitors what specie would you recommend.
